Assembly Supervisor – Day Shift BLUA0480 Telford, Shropshire Salary £22,000 - £27,000

Our client began production in Telford, Shropshire in 1991 and owes its reputation for building outstanding quality power tools to the drive and determination for excellence that began over 90 years ago as a manufacturer of electric motors.

They are currently looking to recruit an Assembly Supervisor to join them to ensure that all work centres have the necessary resources and systems to achieve production schedules whilst maintaining the required levels of efficiency and downtime.

Within the role you must ensure that company efficiency is met, working towards continually improving the efficiency by waste reduction utilising methods such as 5 tests and kaizen and implementing a “good housekeeping” culture throughout the department, ensuring 5S audits are conducted regularly and poor areas improved. You will ensure that schedule changeovers run smoothly, monitoring scrap and QC2 rates and taking steps to reduce scrap wherever possible.

Candidates for this role will ideally hold proven assembly/shopfloor experience within a supervisory capacity and will have a good working knowledge of cellular and linear production methods and experience of working in a target driven environment and delivering to KPI’s. A relevant supervisory qualification (NEBS / NVQ etc) would be beneficial and a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (word, excel, access, power-point) is essential.

You must be able to demonstrate an enthusiastic and committed attitude to your work with a good attention to detail and a strong man management and positive leadership style.
