Job Description

Manufacturing Supervisor BLUM0481 Telford, Shropshire Salary £22,000 - £28,000 plus Shift Allowance (05.50-14.00/13.50-22.00 rotating weekly)

Our client began production in Telford, Shropshire in 1991 and owes its reputation for building outstanding quality power tools to the drive and determination for excellence that began over 90 years ago as a manufacturer of electric motors.

They currently have an opportunity available for a Manufacturing Supervisor to join them to oversee the manufacture of all products within the manufacturing department, ensuring that quality and efficiency targets are achieved as set out in the Objectives.

Within the role you must ensure that the Production Schedule is adhered to, correcting any deviations from this and supervising staff to maintain efficiency and productivity at all times. Making certain that the team conform and adhere to Health Safety and Environmental, policies and procedures, you will check that all equipment is running at the standard times, set out in accordance with the MAP system. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring training, identifying training requirements with the Manufacturing Manager and proposing improvements to practices using Kaizen and 5 Test initiatives.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have previous experience within a supervisory capacity within a similar role. And understanding of 5S/7Wastes would be beneficial however knowledge of SMED / TPM is essential. With clear communication skills, you must have an organised and methodical approach to your work and be able to resolve complex issues. A time served apprentice, you will ideally hold a Mechanical and / or Electrical Engineering qualification and will be ILM 3 or IOSH qualified.
